About the Position: About the Position: Position falls under the Defense Health Agency-Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Inpatient Administration, verifying medical records completeness, accuracy, and proper entry into computer systems, to include 3M 360, using International Code of Diseases (ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM for diagnosis coding, and ICD-10-PCS for operations/procedures coding.This is not a Medical Billing Coder position . Specialty is in Inpatient coding.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology, major disease process, diagnoses, surgical procedures, tests, and pharmacology; 2) Inpatient coding of medical records using International Code of Diseases (ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM) for diagnosis, and ICD-10-PCS for operations and/or procedures; AND 3) Reviewing and analyzing medical records for accuracy.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
