Requirements:

GS-09: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing/Inspecting fire protection systems for a variety of facilities; 2) Applying codes, standards, regulations and policies such as Building and Fire codes; and 3) Performing engineering calculations, cost estimates, project documents, reports, and designs.
OR
2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree in a field that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to do the work of the position.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

Physical Demands: Occasional physical activity is required including walking, climbing, or bending in the performance of field work, for designs and during field inspections of existing and/or new facilities during design and construction.

Work Environment: A. Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Travel to CONUS and OCONUS activities for assigned projects is required. There are occasional factory visits, and exposures to conditions in buildings and facilities that are under construction. Travel under demanding conditions in support of military operations is also occasionally required. Percentage of travel is 10%.
