Description:

About the Position: Serves as Chief of Operations Division in the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations (DCSOPS) office, Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC), responsible for planning, managing, and directing a staff engaged in Brigade S3 and DLIFLC enterprise operations management.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) developing, analyzing and evaluating plans, exercises, operations and procedures in accordance with military operations standards; 2) conducting training studies, identifying possible problem areas and recommending solutions; 3) coordinating operations in joint and coalition environments (military) and/or equivalent environments (industry and/or academia) with multiple organizations; 4) experience working with emergency, disaster and special plans (such as operational security, civil defense, disaster relief, civil disturbances) for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-12. To be referred, applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and qualification requirements within 30 days from the date the referral list is issued.
