MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC

Description:

You will serve as a Marine Machinery Mechanic in the Business Operations Directorate of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY CONUS.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. An example of the screen out element is: I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks as demonstrated by applying a practical knowledge of proper maintenance and repair of all machinery and auxiliary systems, diagnosing, planning and completing projects, operating the marine equipment repair shop, interpreting and applying the hazardous materials regulations. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
