FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN)

Description:

You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN) in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES of NAS PENSACOLA.

- Salary Range for GS-6: $44,959 - $58,445
- Salary Range for GS-7: $49,960 - $64,952

Requirements:

GS-06
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Driving emergency response vehicles in accordance with policies and procedures ; 2) Performing hazmat operation level mitigations; 3) Eliminating potential fire hazards utilizing fire hoses, hose streams and forcible entry tools; 4) Utilizing the design, construction, physical configuration and contents of a variety of facilities/structures and the location and operation of alarm/suppression systems, hydrants, utility shutoffs to suppress fire. NOTE: Experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for this position.
GS-07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department/brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; 5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles; and 6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures. These positions require the incumbent to posses the following certifications:

GS-06: Firefighter I and II, Airport Firefighter, HAZMAT Operations, Driver Operator ARFF and Driver Operator Pumper. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or Pro Board to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.

GS-07 : Firefighter I and II, Airport Firefighter, HAZMAT Technician, Driver/Operator Certifications : Driver Operator ARFF, Driver Operator Pumper, and Driver Operator Aerial and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
