THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This position is located in an Army National Guard (ARNG) Airfield Operations Battalion. This is an Army National Guard (ARNG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification.

DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION :


Area 2 = Applicants who are eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Louisiana National Guard .

Requirements:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE :
Army Warrant Officer Technicians
: Must possess a high school diploma and a college degree with a specialization in a technical discipline with courses in administration and management (An undergraduate degree specializing in physical sciences and mathematics is desirable), AND have graduated from a formal DoD/Department of Transportation (DOT) Basic Air Traffic Control course.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must possess at least One (1) year of specialized experiences at the GS-11 level; AND/OR at least Thirty-six (36) months experience in a military or civilian air traffic facility; experience with Air Traffic Controller leadership roles in multiple ATC facility-rated locations (control tower and radar); experience with facility chief at low-density towers, radar or airspace information centers or served as a facility chief in tactical towers, GCA radars and AICs; experience in managing the administration work of an ATC facility.

Certification :
Applicants must possess a valid Air Traffic Control Specialist Certificate and/or Control Tower (CTO) Certificate.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:

1. Applicants must possess a valid Air Traffic Control Specialist Certificate and/or Control Tower (CTO) Certificate.
2. Must be facility-rated in all assigned facilities, and maintain proficiency.
3. Must meet and maintain on a continuing basis, the physical and mental qualification standards established by the FAA, USA, and NGB for Air Traffic Control duty.
4. Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
5. Is subject to the special retirement provisions for Air Traffic Controllers under CSRS and FERS, 5 USC 3382, Involuntary Separation for Retirement; 5 USC 8335(a) and 8425(a), Mandatory Separation; 5 USC 8336(e) and 8412(e), Immediate Retirement; and 5 USC 8339(e) and 8415(d), Computation of Annuity.
6. Meets the definition for premium pay as stated in 5 USC 5546a(a)1. It also meets US OPM definition for Special Rate Table Number 0565 (radar approach control duties); or Special Rate Table Number 0566 (non-radar approach control duties).
