About the Position: The Madigan Army Medical Center , located on Joint Base Lewis-McChord just outside Lakewood, Washington , is a key component of the Madigan Healthcare System and one of the largest military hospitals on the West Coast of the United States. The work contributes to the achievement of program objectives by clarifying the issues and alternatives facing managers in achieving a meaningful communication between Madigan and the various publics interested.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting an organization's public affairs program i.e .customer service, marketing, press and community relations; applying guidelines and making interpretations of local issues with the community and employees; developing program recommendations from analysis of public feedback through media or directly from the publics affected, both external and internal audiences; and written and oral communication techniques to conduct and coordinate public affairs activities This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
