Description:

You will serve as a LEAD SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH DIVISION; OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, HEALTH, AND ENVIRONMENTAL (OSH&E) OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Requirements:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience applying a wide range of accepted and approved occupational safety and health concepts, principles, practices, laws, methods, standards, techniques and regulations required to identify, evaluate and control conventional and non-conventional industrial and shipyard hazardous conditions.
  • Experience communicating ergonomic principles to motivate individuals to act and work in a safe manner.
  • Experience applying occupational safety and health practices applicable to equipment used in the construction and shipyard industries, materials, utility and ship systems.
  • Experience recommending corrective measures when hazardous conditions and practices are encountered.
