Description:
This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief of Operations, Library Buildings and Grounds, Tenant Services Division, Projects Branch, Painting Section. As a Painter, you will perform coating work on equipment, furnishings, and buildings; accomplished by standard methods and special finishing techniques including graining, marbling, and mottling using coating materials prepared in common and special methods.

For WG-09
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision including:
- Applying materials so that surfaces meet texture, thickness and level requirements;
- Reading and applying directions that relate to the mixture, use and application of pre-coating agents, solvents, and coating material;
- Using painting tools and equipment (e.g., brushes, rollers, screeds, spray guns, straight edges, trowels, viscosity testers); and
- Using a computer to complete time and attendance and training.
For WG-08
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision including:
- Reading and applying directions that relate to the mixture, use and application of pre-coating agents, solvents and coating materials;
- Using standard painting tools and equipment; and
- Using a computer for daily reports and updates on projects and assignments
For WG-07
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision including:
- Assisting with preparing surfaces and supplies within residential or commercial properties; and
- Using a computer for simple tasks including sending emails and accessing job-related information.
