What are we looking for?
- At a minimum a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, in elementary, secondary or special education or administration or human services or a related field appropriate to the work of position AND four years of knowledge and experience that demonstrates skill to independently oversee day-to-day operation of the program.
- OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above.
- OR significant experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above.
- Four years of experience that demonstrates knowledge of education concepts, methods, practices, and higher-level policies relating to education services and community support for schools supporting Marine Corps families.
- Must have skills to monitor a complex case management system, review and recommend approval or disapproval of related program plans and materials; analyze and develop proposals or provisions in terms of impact on program resource requirements; develop new and revise operating procedures and standards to incorporate provisions that affect operating activities and requirements; conduct reviews of the administration and operation of the program and provide subject matter advice.
- Must have the skill to supervise employees in the accomplishment of work.
- Knowledge and experience of educational theories, principles, practices and procedures of K-12 (primary and secondary) educational programs, which may be obtained through, graduate study or extended work experience in the field of education.
- Knowledge of the functions, processes, principles and practices of educational programs and how their function relates to application of criteria and concepts for child and youth services programs, and public-school systems, which vary from state-to-state and from school district to school district.
- Possess skill to coordinate with a variety of regulatory, enforcement and other agencies.
- Possess skill in providing recommendations to assist parents, school districts, and military leadership with developing policies and resolving issues.
- Pursuant with DoDI 1402.5. must be able to obtain and maintain a TIER-1 Child Care (CNACI) background check.
