THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)".This is a National Guard position is for an IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT), Position Description Number T58212P1 and is part of the 169 CS, South Carolina Air National Guard.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): This is a Title 5 "Excepted Service " position under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Army meet our mission requirements.Area of Consideration: This position is open to Areas 2.
Area 1 : Current employees (Tenure 1 and 2 / internal to the Agency)
Area 2 : All other applicants (external to the Agency).
*Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training in analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment. Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency.
*For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:
1. Must obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance level.
2. Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level.
3. All certifications are required within 6 month of employment.
4. Position is designated as OM-STS-01 within the Defense Cybersecurity Workforce as guided by NIST SP 800-181; National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education, Cybersecurity Workforce Framework. 5. KMI Course highly desired.
6. Must have 3 years of COMSEC experience.
