This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1290000 and is part of the NJ FMS 8, National Guard.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED : This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Requirements:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE :- Explain manuals and work procedures
- Organize assignments for subordinates
- Prepare production records, work records, and reports
- Estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs
- Journeyman level knowledge
- Adapt existing equipment and techniques to new situations
- Knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function
- Plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel
- Review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines
- Communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts and knowledge of shop processes
