About the Position: This position serves as the Soo Project Office Assistant Operations-Manager overseeing a critical multi-use civil works navigation project located in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Incumbent participates in planning and direction of programs as well as Acting as or representing the Operations Manager, as required. Supports ongoing work, including construction and research that may affect operations and maintenance throughout the project.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes facility operations experience applying planning, programming, and/or budgeting regulations, guidelines, acquisition, and management processes to prepare long and short-range plans in accordance with policies and objectives for facility operations programs related to records management, physical and information security, supply chain management which includes purchasing, shipping, and receiving functions; directing multi-disciplined staff to accomplish program directives; establishing continuous communication regarding integrated programs by coordinating events, meetings, briefs, or committees; OR executing supervisory duties to include setting priorities, filling vacancies, developing performance standards, providing counsel and guidance, taking corrective actions as necessary, approving leave, etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
