Description:

This position is located in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Office of Response & Recovery (ORR), Response Directorate, Disaster Emergency Communications Division (DECD), Mobile Emergency Response Support (MERS) Detachment. The ideal candidate for this position will have in-depth knowledge of the concepts, principles, procedures and techniques required to develop, install, integrate, operate, evaluate and maintain voice, data and video telecommunications system and circuits.

To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level (starting salary $100,371), you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  • Planning and designing radio frequency telecommunications systems; AND
  • Directing the deployment, placement, integration, operation, and maintenance of telecommunication systems and equipment; AND
  • Testing, diagnosing and monitoring voice, data and video telecommunications systems and equipment to maintain performance and functionality of the system.
