This vacancy is for a GS-2210-11, IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS/SYSADMIN) located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, D11 C5I and SECURITY DIVISION -DT, in Alameda, CA.Requirements:
Basic Requirements: This qualification standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience .Education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Experience:
To qualify at the GS- 11 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience must include the following:
- integrating information technology security systems with other security disciplines
- certifying or network accreditation
- ensuring coordination and/or collaboration on security activities
- ensuring proper protection of evidence used in investigating information technology.
