To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements:
Education:
GS-06 and GS-07: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-05 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
OR
Experience:
GL-06 and GL-07: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.
Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
GS-06:
- Experience in performing a variety of administrative support duties, such as preparing memorandum, letters, and reports, copying and filing documents, and appropriate disposal of sensitive documents.
- Experience in maintaining departmental records and assisting with ensuring program requirements and timeframes are met.
- Experience with retrieving data, coding, and keying tracking information into an automated system.
- Experience responding to routine requests for information, suspense dates for matters requiring compliance, and similar information readily available from files.
GS-07:
- Experience in performing a variety of administrative support duties, such as preparing correspondence and reports, copying and filing documents, auditing files, and appropriate disposal of sensitive documents.
- Experience in retrieving data, coding, and keying tracking information into a database and auditing actions for accuracy.
- Experience in initiating requests for information, tracking and monitoring suspense dates, and ensuring information received is in compliance with organizational procedures.
- Experience responding to routine requests for information such as status of reports, suspense dates for matters requiring compliance, and similar information readily available from files.
If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.
