Description:

Serves as Engineering Technician (Team Lead) and principal technical specialist for complex depot level component repair and fabrication of mechanical equipment to support all NAS systems. This position has quasi supervisory duties as such: approves emergency and short-term leave up to 3 days, provides input to employee performance and or conduct and discipline issues, sets team priorities, assigns tasks, coaches and develops employees.

Requirements:

To qualify for this position at the FV-I (FG/GS-13) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H (FG/GS-12). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience includes experience with electromechanical practices and procedures. Experience with work which directly supports the objectives of the organization involving the safe and continual operation of the NAS. Experience leading a technical team within a Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) setting.

AND

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Employee must be capable of heavy lifting (at least 45 pounds),
pulling hand over hand, climbing, use of legs and arms, crawling, kneeling, depth perception,
operating a crane, truck, or motor vehicle. Employee may be required to work outside in excessive cold, heat, humidity, dust solvents (degreasing agents) and on slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
