Description:
The Paralegal Specialist position is in the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA). OLA provides legislative counsel to the AO and the Judicial Conference; supports Judicial Conference committees; develops and promotes legislative initiatives; promotes communication with, and prepares and coordinates responses to inquiries from, Congress, the executive branch, and other entities; and analyzes the impact of legislative proposals on the Judiciary.Requirements:
Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.Specialized Experience : Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience must demonstrate experience in ALL areas defined:
- Conducting legislative or policy research and analysis.
- Conducting, drafting, and summarizing legal research or similar technical research.
- Using online research tools, chart and database software, and maintaining web pages.
Highly Desired:
- Capitol Hill experience
