• Experience and training that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade.
• This includes using and maintaining tools and equipment, being able to read, understand, and apply instructions and other requirements related to this job.
• Driving and operating forklifts and performing the physical requirements of the job.

Skills and Knowledge:

Applies basic manual skills when using hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, and other hand tools to unpackage or disassemble equipment. In property utilization and disposal facilities, able to recognize a limited number of basic metals such as copper, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and bronze. Able to compare identifying data such as article stock numbers, condition coding, and material identification plates with basic material and equipment and assign coding for further processing, acceptance, rejection, or dismantling. Applies a basic knowledge of magnetic, spark, and chemical tests to test metal components of usable equipment for salvage purposes.
