Description:

As the Assistant Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer in the Office of Public Affairs, you will assist in the management of all aspects of the FOIA Program and the Disclosure Services Unit. You will also identify changes to the FOIA that are based on guidance received from the Department of Justice, other financial regulators, and the Department of Treasury. Additionally, you will supervise assigned staff and direct resources necessary to carry out programs and functions.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:

To qualify for the NB-V.2 level, applicants must have specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level, NB-IV level in the federal service. This experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Providing guidance to internal and external customers on disclosure or privacy matters, and
  • Drafting responses consistent with established policies and procedures to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)/Privacy Act (PA) requests.


The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
