Data Collection Engineer

As a client-facing data analyst on our Global Defense team, you'll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, but you'll also advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on concept development and optimizing technologies.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. - Use your data analytics expertise to support client and stakeholder relationships
- Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through collection, interpretation, evaluation, and analysis of large data sets
- Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations
- Apply communication skills and data analytics expertise by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on audience
- Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases and scripting languages such as SQL, Python, R, and Micro sof t Office Suite
- Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes
- Apply data visualization through different formats such as graphs, tables, and PowerPoint slides
- Grow your communication and technical skills by creating data-centric solutions across the defense sector

You Have:
- 3+ years of experience identifying and collecting data sources, analyzing and extracting key data and information, and evaluating and monitoring data quality to meet information reporting needs and requirements
- Experience with DoD organizations and Extract, Transform, and Load ( ETL ) processes using PostgresQL, Databricks, or NiFi
- Experience with data analytics, data mining, or statistical analysis
- Experience retrieving, merging, and analyzing structured and unstructured data sources from APIs and databases, including through R, Python, or SQL
- Knowledge of operations research techniques, including probability and statistical methods
- Ability to coordinate with multiple, non-matrixed stakeholders to gather data
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities based on mission needs
- TS / SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with data visualization sof tware, including Tableau and Power BI
- Experience with artifi cia l intelligence and machine learning
- Experience with Advana, Jupiter, or Bolt
- Experience with command line in Linux or UNIX
- Experience with Databricks and Qlik
