Overview

iDirect Government is a leading ground systems provider to the military satellite industry. We offer platforms connecting a variety of satellite constellations with an array of hub and remote terminal products. Terminals are installed on aircraft, maritime vessels, and other ground-based military and government assets. These terminals provide internet and voice connectivity to remote and austere locations where traditional ground and cellular based infrastructure is unavailable.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a team leader within the Sales Engineering team at iDirectGov. The candidate should have extensive knowledge in the areas of IP networking over satellite communications, transporting secure and non-secure voice, video, and data. This position will support new and ongoing operational requirements by assisting federal government and military customers with planning, engineering and implementation of iDirect Government technologies within enterprise satellite network environments. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop the Sales Engineering team's knowledge of iDirectGov's products and development capabilities. Have the ability to translate those products into solutions that enable customer missions. Build a team that serves as the go to experts on iDirectGov's products and solutions.
  • Manage the Sales Engineering team on a day-to-day basis including conducting one-on-one meetings with team members, acting as a point of escalation for team issues and resolving them effectively, and managing team workloads and performance.
  • Work with sales leadership to strategize on deals, develop sales pitches, complete deep technical discovery and tailor technical presentations to drive better outcomes for prospects, customers and iDirectGov.
  • Establish best practices for the team regarding demos, proof-of-concepts (POCs) and other related pre-sales activities.
  • Manage the technical response for all RFI/RFP responses that come from the business development team.
  • Serve as the escalation point and technical advisor to strategic customers, addressing complex needs and solution-fit.
  • Gather feedback from prospects and customers, communicate and work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Support to shape the product roadmap with customer needs
  • Ensure ongoing partner & end customer happiness, support and adoption
  • Understand and effectively differentiate against our top competitors
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to manage interactions with customers, partners and other important parties
  • Acts in a consultative role to customers and partners designing satellite-based IP networks. Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to iDirectGov's customers, working with your Sales Account Manager to execute and manage Sales strategies


Qualifications

The successful candidate must have:
  • 10+ years of work experience with relevant experience in Technical Sales Engineering roles within the satellite communications industry.
  • 10+ years of work experience of technical sales within the federal government space.
  • Bachelors degree or higher or equivalent military experience preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 30% as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in scientific, technical or management discipline and 5 years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing IP and/or satellite networks is a definite plus.
Clearance:
  • The qualified candidate must have a Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance.
