Instrumentation Field Technician
We are seeking an Instrumentation Field Technician for our Addison, TX location. This role is crucial to our operations, providing direct support to customers and contributing to successful project execution. The individual in this position represents the team s efforts and plays a vital role in maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Instrumentation: Perform start-up, calibration, and troubleshooting of project-related instrumentation, including transmitters (flow, pressure, temperature, position, vibration, and current) and analyzers (dissolved oxygen, sludge blanket, ORP, turbidity, pH, chlorine, fluoride, conductivity, and particle counting).
Systems Drawings: Interpret and update Process and Instrumentation, Control Loop, and Control Panel drawings, ensuring accurate as-built documentation for PLC and DCS control systems.
Motor Control Equipment: Troubleshoot 480VAC distribution and motor control equipment while adhering to all necessary safety protocols.
PLC Equipment: Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC and relay-type equipment.
Equipment Modifications: Perform necessary mechanical and electrical modifications in the field.
Computer/Networking: Install and start up computer and networking equipment.
General Administration: Handle paperwork, printing, copying, and using a computer for documentation purposes.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent training/experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in instrumentation, system drawings, motor control equipment, PLC equipment, equipment modifications, telemetry equipment, and computer/networking equipment.
Strong ability to work professionally with customers and maintain positive business relationships.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Valid driver s license with the ability to travel to client sites as required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access.
Client Interaction & Travel:
Regular travel to client sites is required.
Must maintain a valid driver s license.
Physical Demands:
Full dexterity of hands and feet required on-site.
Ability to access ladders and confined spaces.
Use of hand tools.
Tasks may include lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and working in varied temperature conditions, moisture, and sun exposure.
Potential exposure to hazardous materials and electrical voltages.
Working Environment:
Work may be performed in an on-site office, industrial facilities, or construction trailer environments.
Conditions may include varying temperatures, exposure to noise, vibrations, chemicals, slippery or uneven surfaces, confined spaces, and heights.
Requires frequent standing, driving, and occasional bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
May involve irregular or extended hours, on-call duties, and travel as needed for project completion.
