Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Systems Engineer to join our team, focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining systems for manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and automation, paired with comprehensive experience in manufacturing processes and industrial technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • PLC Development: Design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC systems for automated manufacturing processes. Ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLCs with manufacturing equipment, robotics, and SCADA systems for seamless operations.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing production systems to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Implement solutions using PLCs and other automation technologies.
  • Technical Expertise: Advocate for best practices in hardware and software development for PLCs and manufacturing systems, including ladder logic, structured text, and other programming methodologies.
  • Testing & Validation: Develop and execute testing programs to ensure manufacturing systems are operating at optimal performance. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as they arise.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, workflows, and facility requirements to design systems that align with production goals and minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of system architecture, programming guidelines, and troubleshooting efforts. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Vendor & Customer Support: Manage vendor relationships for PLC hardware and software solutions. Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel and external partners as needed.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Train plant operators and technicians on PLC operation and functionality. Share insights about manufacturing systems to enhance team knowledge and capabilities.


Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in PLC programming and development in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in programming platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), SCADA systems, and industrial networking (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and debugging PLCs and manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and technical writing abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with robotics integration and motion control systems within manufacturing setups.
  • Certification in PLC programming or automation technologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms.
