Description:
This position is in the Office of Intelligence, Security, and Emergency Response (S-60), Office of the Secretary (OST). S-60 manages and coordinates the Department of Transportation's (DOT) preparedness, prevention, response, and recovery efforts to natural disasters or manmade events/incidents. The Transportation Operations Center (TOC) manages the collection, analysis, preparation, and dissemination of crisis response information.
Requirements:
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements.
To qualify for the Grade 14 , you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include:
- Experience managing and coordinating organizational preparedness, prevention, response and recovery operations for a large municipality or private industry organization. This experience should include preparing reports reflecting status, trend, deficiencies, as well as other strategic matters requiring in-depth study or corrective action.
- Experienced in providing verbal and written briefings to senior executive leadership on topics related to emergencies, threats, disasters, and other emerging situations that may require answering ad-hoc questions.
- Experience managing and or supervising a team of individuals in a diverse, fast-paced operational environment, including experience working in a Continuity of Operations facility.

- Problem Solving - Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; generates and evaluates alternative solutions; makes recommendations.
