About the Position: This position is located at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. Fort Buchanan is located by Guaynabo City, Puerto Rico. It is near the capital of San Juan. Puerto Rico boasts fabulous ocean views, tropical weather, and lush green mountains. The island is approximately 100 miles by 35 miles and similar in size to Connecticut.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Motor Vehicle Operator Supervisor without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: workforce planning, training and employee development; prioritizing workload based off future deadlines; and identifying training needs. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
  • Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles)
  • Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation)
  • Ability To Lead or Supervise
  • Operation of Motor Vehicles
  • Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order)
  • Physical Effort: The work is sedentary. There may be some walking, bending, and carrying light items such as papers and/or carrying objects weighing up to 45 pounds or less.
  • Working Conditions: Drivers operate vehicles in all types of traffic and weather on public roads (or the equivalent), and are exposed to the danger of serious accidents and must exercise caution. They drive in heavy traffic and at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems.
