About the Position: Serves as the working leader over three or more Material Handler (MVO/FLO) positions, performing a full range of warehouse duties and functions associated with supplies, equipment, and shipping.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Material Handler (Motor Vehicle Operator / Forklift Operator) Leader without more than normal supervision. I have performed common Materials Handler (MVO/FLO) Leader duties. I am able to respond to subordinates with regard to instructions, specifications, and the tools needed to accomplish their tasks. I can plan and organize production flow and training schedules. I can anticipate and resolve problems in order to meet schedules or deadlines. I can independently operate various types of forklifts (e.g. electric, gasoline, and/or diesel). - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order)
  • Physical Effort - Stands, stoops, bends, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for prolonged periods. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 45 pounds unassisted and heavier with assistance of coworker or lifting device. Moderate physical effort is used in operating forklift, hand and foot controls.
  • Working Conditions - Works inside and outside subject to heat, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted areas. May work on open docks or storage yards. Work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises.
