FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER

Requirements:

For the GS-12: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing Fire Protection Engineering design of fire protection systems for new construction projects and renovation projects for facilities (e.g., office buildings, training facilities, aircraft hangers, etc.); 2) Preparing project construction drawings using computer-aided drawing software in support of projects' fire protection designs for new construction and renovation projects; and 3) Reviewing engineering plans, specifications and design computations developed by architect and engineering (A/E) firms for technical adequacy, completeness, and for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and building codes. NOTE : This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.

For the GS-13: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing fire protection engineering design drawings, specifications and documentation for facility components and systems; 2) Preparing contract requirements, proposal and bidding procedures and documentation for the acquisition of facilities fire protection systems; 3) Managing fire protection projects to ensure project scope, schedules and costs are not exceeded; 4) Providing technical solutions to fire protection engineering issues.
