Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN / INFOSEC) in the COMMAND INFORMATION OFFICE of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.

Requirements:

You resume must detail a minimum of one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency must include: Developing strategic plans for the delivery of information technology (IT) customer services to support an organization's mission.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency must include: Briefing senior leaders on information technology (IT) cybersecurity program particulars (e.g., requirements, schedules, costs, concepts, solutions, deployment, and operation).
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Developing and interpreting policy, procedures, and strategies for Information Technology (IT) implementation of advanced Information Systems (IS) for delivery of services; 2) Identifying and analyzing problems; weighing relevance and accuracy of information in order to provide alternative solutions of critical IS/IT issues to management and other technical specialists; 3) Applying new developments to previously unsolvable problems to make recommendations that significantly influence agency IT policies or programs; 4) Monitoring activities to ensure integration of IS/IT programs and services are within resource requirements; 5) Providing solutions to integration/interoperability issues to meet current and future business requirements; and 6) Managing assigned projects by communicating complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel and presenting briefings to senior management on complex/controversial issues.
