Description:

This position is located in the Logistics Management Directorate, Transportaion Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing transportation requests, generating movement documentation, and coordinating directly with transportation providers to meet FEMA requirements. They will additionally provide transportation guidance to FEMA authorities during disaster operations.

To qualify for this Transportation Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  1. Processing transportation requests, scheduling movements, preparing appropriate documents, and tracking shipments; AND
  2. Providing technical advice on all modes of transportation management and operations; AND
  3. Communicating verbally in writing with senior executives.
Education

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
